Politicians are the same all over.  They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river.

Descending into Chaos

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 In : Political Issues
Yes, our generation didn’t see the greatest war or a great depression. Yes, we are the middle children of history. We neither witnessed bloody partition nor great exodus of Kashmiris. Unfortunately, we are witnessing one of the saddest incidents of Independent India. I used to watch great Wildebeest migration on Discovery Channel with awe and wonder. When it happens to humans, its not the same. The awe is replaced with disappointment and melancholy.

If you hadn’t guessed it already, yes, I...

BBC and their bigotry

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Thursday, September 14, 2017 In : Political Issues

Have you ever wondered how fairly the most celebrated news media houses in the world, BBC and CNN, report news when compared maligned media houses in India? Well, the answer is, not so fairly. They are biased in one way or other, but in a dignified way, yeah, because they wear suits. British government and their media had glorified Winston Churchill as the crusader of democracy and ultimate strategist when he was directly responsible for the deaths of 5 million people in India with the man-ma...

Invisible Money and Electoral Bonds

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 In : Political Issues

Our finance minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley, recently opened a Pandora's box when he said, ‘’For 70 years, India’s democracy has completely been funded by invisible money- Elected representatives, political parties, Governments, parliaments. And I must say that the election commission completely failed in checking that’’ in Delhi Economic Conclave.  His words were too true for any kind of denial no matter which side you are on. First thing you need to understand is, invisible money has g...

Why Privatisation of Maharaja is a blunder?

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Sunday, July 30, 2017 In : Political Issues

Maharaja, the iconic airline of India, is struggling to cope up with the political incorrectness. Yes, the Air India is making losses, but, which carrier isn’t? And, you may quirk, Air India is running on public money while the others aren’t. Yes, Air India is running on public money, and that is precisely why I don’t want it to be privatized. Losses of Air India isn’t a new, hence the restructuring plan was laid out in 2012 to make air India profitable by 2022. Air India going well o...

Why India needs a strong villain?

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Friday, March 17, 2017 In : Political Issues

We have seen things which we didn’t dream of. In 2014, a party stormed into the power to lead world’s largest democracy with a landslide victory, which is certainly a strange thing to the generation of people who were grown up with the coalitions. We may waive this off as a onetime luck due to the anti-incumbent wave that swept across the country after a decade long scandals. But, one might think otherwise after witnessing similar kind of results in recent Uttar Pradesh, the largest state...

Modi and the challenges ahead

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Sunday, June 1, 2014 In : economic articles

Narendra Modi aka NaMo has sworn-in as the 15th prime minister of the largest democracy in the world amidst of huge expectations from the citizens of India. In accordance with the expectations, the initial moves of Modi were actually in the right direction, be it SIT for bringing back black money or the tiny cabinet for ‘ minimum government and maximum governance’ promise. Markets responded very positives by touching life time highs, foreign inflows picked up. CAD for Q4 of 2013-14 sharpl...

Hitler: Man who owned a nation

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 In : economic articles

Adolf Hitler, a name that scared the world for over 15 years, a name that acted as synonym for a country, a name that killed 15 million people, a name that built an economic super power. How can one see this man, as a dictator, as a politician, as an army general or as an economist or anything else? When people are talking so great about Abraham Lincoln who became president of US from nothing, why not people talk about Hitler in the same way? Is it just because he was the reason behind Second...

IRON LADY OF MANIPUR- THE WORLDS LONGEST HUNGER STRIKER

Posted by K Vinoth Kumar on Saturday, June 18, 2011

Hunger strike - the word is so familiar for the Indians (atleast for the politicians) and it become a hot topic for the past few months. It becomes a very powerful weapon these days starting with Anna Hazare’s hunger strike which lasted from 5th April 2011 to 9th April 2011 for 98 hours. This movement showed the world about the unity of common people against the corruption which grown into a gigantic dragon in India. In the same time I came across an article about a lady who is in hunger st...

KASHMIR: a never known mystery and an everlasting history

Posted by VASUDEVA REDDY on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 In : economic articles

Why India and Pakistan are fighting for Kashmir?? Don’t they have any other place to fight for??? What is so much special about Kashmir to fight for and to spend billions of rupees. When exactly the war has started for Kashmir????

The war has started for Pakistan at the moment of partition. Yes, just at the moment of partition. What was there behind that? Actually there are many ‘so called’ secrets lies behind the partition, particularly in the case of Kashmir.  Louis Mountbatten was t...
